Table Legs
Table legs make a big visual difference on a plank dining table. You can choose powerful legs for a rustic look, or an easier version for a simpler look. All our wooden leg solutions are made in-house at the carpentry.

Wooden table legs
A table leg in either matching wood or black wood can give a particularly beautiful look. It extends the natural shapes and colours of the table down towards the floor, and can make a carpentry table appear even more exclusive. We can even make the table legs in the same wood and oiled as the table top. Wooden table legs have an additional price of DKK 500 per joinery table.

Steel legs – Cross legs
Our most popular steel legs. Cross legs in black or chrome give the table a modern and elegant expression. Steel table legs are incredibly robust, making them particularly suitable for large and heavy plank tables. They are timeless, won't fade, and you won't have to worry about marks and scratches.

Steel legs – Trapeze
Trapeze-shaped steel legs give an architectural expression. Available in black, white or chrome. A strong design choice for the modern home. Our skilled blacksmith, Nikolai, manufactures all our steel legs with the highest quality.

Custom solutions
If you have a different wish for the table leg, we will make a 3D drawing before we start, so you have the opportunity to visualise the solution before it is manufactured. Because we are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality solutions, you won't find cheap plank table legs here. Quality and price go hand in hand.
Surface Treatments
It can be a bit of a jungle to figure out what kind of wood, finish and finished look you want. There can be very big differences in how the final wood looks depending on the treatment applied.
Oak can vary greatly in expression, and when adding oil to the tree, these variations can really bloom. We usually look at the unique piece of wood and then make recommendations on which will work best.

Natural-oiled oak
Natural oil highlights the grain of the oak and gives a warm, natural sheen. The oil penetrates the wood and protects from within. Our most popular treatment for oak.

Dark and smoked oiled oak
In addition to oils, we also smoke the wood in a special oven, which creates beautiful greyish shades in dark tones. It makes for a super nice dark piece of furniture! Smoking is a unique treatment that gives the oak a very special depth.

White pigmented and neutral-oiled oak
White oil gives the wood a lighter, more Nordic expression. Preserves the grain but with a whitish tone. Perfect for bright interiors and Scandinavian design.

Walnut – always natural oil
Walnut is a solid wood species which gets especially warm, brownish and more exotic colours. At Kærbygård, walnut furniture ALWAYS comes with natural oil, which gives the wood a more reddish or reddish-brown appearance. We do not recommend colouring walnut as it does not absorb it as nicely.

Elm wood – always natural oil
For elm wood the same conditions apply as walnut. Elm wood has a more brownish than reddish tinge, and can have large shade differences from plank to plank. Elm wood is always treated with natural oil at Kærbygård.
Varnish, oil or smoke?
We offer both oil and smoke, but should you wish to treat your plank table with varnish, we also have the option. Varnish can make the surfaces more mirror-smooth and hardy, but can also cause more maintenance problems, as it is harder to finish at home. We therefore recommend oil or smoke as a starting point.
