Choosing and designing carpentry furniture

Designing and manufacturing the correct carpentry furniture that fulfills your dreams and requirements can be a complex affair, and works both on paper and in reality. Most furniture made by hand is unique and it is therefore difficult to relate to what YOUR specific furniture will look like.

At Kaerbygaard , we have been making joinery furniture for many years and know a lot about how the wood develops and how it ends up in your home. In addition, we have both showrooms with beautiful carpentry furniture that you can see, and we have an index with many pictures of previously delivered furniture.

That's why at Kaerbygaard you can be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that you'll get the exact piece of furniture you're dreaming of. In fact, we are so confident that we offer a satisfaction guarantee on the majority of our furniture.

FAQ on Round table

What is the difference between carpentry and machine-made Round table?

A Round table can be a complex piece of furniture to make. The materials must be just right, and the choices you make regarding gluing, surface treatment and the possibility of add-on tops have a big impact on the overall look of the table. Our carpenters listen to your wishes and requirements, leaving assembly line tables as they are. At Kaerbygaard we can make your table round, square or whatever your imagination tells us.

Which type of wood to choose Round table in?

Round tables can be made in almost all types of wood. However, there is a big difference between the expression in the wood, the durability and the colors. We recommend choosing either oak, walnut or elm wood, as they are hardy and can get a refined expression that lasts for generations. You can come by our showroom or see the gallery on our website to see the different expressions that are in the tree.

What is the process of designing a Round table?

First we recommend that you look at some pictures and inspiration on our website and then consider how many people the table should be able to carry. Next, feel free to choose wood, size, design, wood and finally surface treatment in our carpentry.

Consider the following:

  1. Choice of design style – should it be oval, round or otherwise? What should the bonding be like? how wide planks should they be made of?
  2. Choice of wood: we recommend oak, walnut or elm wood.
  3. Choose the size of the table (diameter and height) – here you can also think about whether you want 0, 1 or 2 additional plates. Typically, our tables are between 70-75 cm in height as standard.
  4. Choose the design of your edge: should it be straight, oblique or natural?
  5. Choose table legs: Meta or wood? Colour? Shape?
  6. Choose coating: we recommend oil.
How to maintain a Round table?

One Round table can often simply be maintained with a damp cloth, which is run gently across the table.
